Suggestions Needed

Aaron and I recently signed up for Netflix. I love watching movies, and therefore have seen quite a few of them. However, I know there are many, many good movies out there that I have yet to see. I need help filling up my queue.

So, what I need from you are recommendations for movies to see.

I love comedies. (Some romantic comedies, but Aaron really won't watch those.)

Second favorite are action/thriller movies (eg. The Bourne Identity, Kiss the Girls, basically any fun action movie or mystery movies).

I'm not really into romance movies, and am not a big fan of scary movies (especially not The Shining - don't recommend it, I won't watch it. Period.) although I will watch some after reading the spoiler. The Ring really freaked me out. Scream, not so much. Blair Witch Project, freaked me out too. As did the Mothman Prophesy. I also refuse to watch things like The Grudge or The Exorcism of Emily Rose. Basically murderers are okay, ghosts and demons are not.

Okay...recommend away.

Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog :)

Do you care if I link you later when I get back into messing with my template??

And for movie suggestions, if you're in for a good laugh, might I suggest my favorite Mockumenteries:

Drop Dead Gorgeous
Best In Show
Waiting for Guffman
Life Aquatic of Steve Zizzou
A Mighty Wind

After reading through some of your blog, I think you'll like a few of them. Then again, I'm pretty doped up on nyquil at the moment so my judgement could be WAYYYY off

1) Nobody's Fool (Paul Newman, Jessican Tandy. Need I say more? Oh, I do? Ok,then. Bruce Willis and Melanie Griffith. Very funny.)

2) Signs (Mel Gibson, Joaquin Phoenix. A little scary, but very cool.)

3) Victor/Victoria (Julie Andrews, James Garner, Robert Preston. Funny, sweet, sad, funny, sexy, funny)

4) Singing in the Rain (Gene Kelly, Donald O'Connor. The singing! The dancing! Gene Kelly is the absolute coolest guy ever and he has quite the nice heinie too.)

5) Brianne is right, Best in Show is one of our favorite movies around here. We can (and have) watch it over and over.

6) The Fifth Element. It's just cool. Also funny. Also adventury.

Ok, I'm done. You must share what movies you've picked and whether or not you like them.

Ahhh, I loved A Mighty Wind, but could NOT stay awake any of the three separate times I tried to watch Best in Show.

Hmmm, I guess you won't check out Saw ;) LOL! Oh if you watch Signs, then watch The Village. And The Others.

you know that you can add *friends* to your netflix and see their movie reviews and queue? it's awesome. i get a lot of ideas from that. :)

Waiting for Guffman is my favorite of those three with Best in Show a close second. I just saw Runaway Jury and it was pretty good. Happy Endings was pretty good too. I also highly recommend American Splendor and Cinderella Man.

I watch a variety. Here are a few I recomend:

Blazing Saddles
This is Spinal Tap
To Kill a Mockingbird
Bringing Up Baby
Shawshank Redemption
When Harry Met Sally
-Harry's "why I love you" speech to Sally at a New Year's Eve party: ("I love that you get cold when it's seventy-one degrees out. I love that it takes you an hour and a half to order a sandwich. I love that you get a little crinkle above your nose when you're lookin' at me like I'm nuts. I love that after I spend the day with you, I can still smell your perfume on my clothes. And I love that you are the last person I want to talk to before I go to sleep at night. And it's not because I'm lonely. And it's not because it's New Year's Eve. I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible!")

Bull Durham
Who is Cletus Tout?
