Apparently My Taste is Blind
I know it happens to everyone, you get a song stuck in your head and you just keep singing it over and over (especially the refrain, if that’s all you know of the song), and it just won’t stop. Usually I have pretty good songs stuck in my head so I don’t always mind, but today I don’t know if I like the song my brain has chosen to play on constant replay. Or at least there’s a good chance I’ll get made fun of if I say I like it or even don’t mind it.
What’s the song stuck in my head, you ask?
Why, Paris Hilton’s new single “Stars are Blind”.
I’m going to admit something, but be nice, okay? I don’t really mind the song. It’s slightly catchy, if not a little annoying because of the breathy voice she uses, but I kind of like the melody. Apparently the part of my brain that is responsible for choosing the songs that get stuck in my head doesn’t mind the song either.
You want another embarrassing admission? I like Britney Spears’ music and hope she makes a miraculous comeback. Here’s yet another: I also really love most of Kelly Clarkston’s songs. All this from a girl who’s a true rock and roll fan at heart (and Dave Grohl’s number one fan!).
I think it’s time to break out my ipod and get something else playing in my head, because those admissions were way too embarrassing.

What is most scary to me about your post is that I wasn't aware that Paris Hilton had a single. Who are these people that keep telling her she has any talent whatsoever???
I'll stand up with you and admit to liking one or two Britney songs, as well as some Kelly Clarkson. Not all, but some. There's no shame in having well rounded musical taste and appreciating a good song. We can be proud!
Britney Spears is a commercial hack. She is a gum chomping, wanna be. Her problem is that she keeps switching who she wants to be...Mariah(early career), Madonna (Kabballah kick), now Angelina Jolie? wtf? Lets pull over to the side of the pretencious turnpike!
Clarkson is probably the only decent pick of the three as far as character and talent go. Anyone could have sang that Paris Hilton song.
I have the Gilmore Girls theme song stuck in my head this week. Last week it was the songs from Vacation Bible School.
The thing about living in the middle of nowhere TX is that it will take at least 6 months until Paris' song will hit the airwaves. If I didn't have cable TV, I wouldn't know what goes on in the world.
i like kelly and i am proud of it. she's the best american idol. i can't bear to look at paris after watching her porn. ick.
I hate pop music but the Paris Hilton song? I heard it once and it stuck in my head. I knew every single lyric. I honestly (no sarcasm) contemplated the possiblity that it some subliminal stuff in it because how did it get in my head so perfectly, so fast? I also wondered if perhaps it was a remake of some kind that I heard when I was little because how did I know all the words almost before she said them?
Creepy.
